Chained Beasts Player Count: How Many Players, Co-Op Limits and Launch Player Numbers
✓ Last verified 2026-10-16 · How we check facts
Quick answer
Chained Beasts player count is 1 to 4 players, in solo, local couch co-op or online co-op with cross-play. Around launch, Steam showed roughly 1,500 to 2,000 concurrent players.
Chained Beasts player count questions come in two flavors: how many people can play together, and how many people are playing right now. This page answers both. The short answer: the Chained Beasts player count per session is one to four, and launch-day Steam numbers sat in the low thousands.
Chained Beasts Player Count per Session
The game is built as a 1-4 player co-op gladiator roguelike. That limit applies to every mode.
| Mode | Player count |
|---|---|
| Single player | 1 |
| Local couch co-op | Up to 4 |
| Online co-op | Up to 4 |
| Xbox local and online | 2 to 4 for co-op |
With fewer than four players, chain layouts adapt. In solo play the chain anchors you to the arena or to heavy objects.
Chained Beasts Player Count on Steam at Launch
Around launch, third-party trackers reported about 1,489 concurrent players on Steam with a peak of 1,970. The Steam community hub showed 1,827 players in-game at another point on launch day. These numbers only cover Steam, not PS5, Xbox, Game Pass or Switch, so the total Chained Beasts player count across platforms is higher.
| Source | Snapshot |
|---|---|
| Third-party tracker, current | About 1,489 |
| Third-party tracker, peak | About 1,970 |
| Steam community hub | 1,827 in-game |
| Wishlists before launch | 200,000+ per the developer |
What the Numbers Mean
For a co-op game, the useful question is whether you can find a group. Because there was no matchmaking in the demo, the official Discord is the best place to find partners. See our community page and the crossplay guide.
